The Internet's oldest producer of free electronic books. Find the classic books from the start of this century and previous centuries, from authors like Shakespeare, Poe, Dante, as well as well-loved favorites like the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the Tarzan and Mars books of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Alice's adventures in Wonderland as told by Lewis Carroll, and thousands of others.
This online collection of selected electronic facsimiles seeks to share the marriage between book art and Shakespearean text with a wider audience. It also suggests the variety of responses by visual and book artists to the stimulus of Shakespeare's words. This online collection, originally published in venues as disparate as Philadelphia and Leipzig, includes images produced by an array of technologies available in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The drop down menu on the right of the search box can help narrow your search. If you want to search for something broad and general (or a subject), leave the Anywhere setting. If you want to search for works written by a specific person, search by author. If you are looking for a specific work, search by title
Use the Advanced Search option to do more targeted searches and get more accurate search results. In addition to being able to search by more than one limiter (including the option to search by subject heading), you can also search by location, format, date, and language.
To narrow your search further, there is an option to "Narrow results by" in a box to the left on your results page.
