Vietnam Veterans Against the War
Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Inc. (VVAW) is a national veterans' organization that was founded in New York City in 1967. It was organized to voice the growing opposition among returning servicemen and women to the ongoing war. It quickly took up the struggle for the rights and needs of veterans: calling for improvements in VA hospitals, amnesty for war resisters, and recognition of service related diseases and mental health conditions.
Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall -- The Wall-USA
TheWall-USA.com was created in 1996 by the late Alan Oskvarek, a disabled Vietnam Vet, as a tribute to the dead and missing from Vietnam. In 2001 when ill-health made it impossible for him to continue maintaining the web site, it was purchased by an individual who donated it to the 4th Battalion 9th Infantry Regiment Manchu (Vietnam) Association a non-profit organization of Vietnam combat veterans.
Vietnam Veterans of America
Founded in 1978, Vietnam Veterans of America is the only national Vietnam veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families.
