Resources for Music-Arts Administration

Fun tools

  • BrowZine is an easy way to browse journals -- the electronic versions available through the FSU Libraries.
    • Platforms supported: iOS v7.x and up, Android devices with OS v4.0 and up; Kindle Fire HD tablets
    • Have questions about setting it up? Contact your friendly music librarian for a quick consultation!
  • Zotero is not only a citation managment tool, but you can use it to
    • Organize your readings by class or project
    • Save PDFs (or other files) of the articles, scans, etc.
    • Share readings for a project
    • Use the Word or LibreOffice plugins to make citations within your paper/writing easy.
  • Off-campus proxy login
    • Off campus and having issues bringing up a particular journal article or something else you KNOW you were able to access on-campus? Use the magic proxy server link. Once you log into the proxy server, you should be able to access FSU subscription resources as if you are on-campus (most of the time).
    • All of the campus subscription resources listed in this guide have the proxy server address included.
  • Print Drivers
    • Need to print to a printer in the Allen Music Library or Strozier? You can download the drivers, and send the print job from your computer at home or your laptop.
    • You have 2 hours from the time you send the job until you go to a print station -- after 2 hours, your print job disappears from the queue.
  • Allen Music Library Facebook page
    • Like us -- while we'll send out mass email for many events, some we just market through our Facebook page.
