Basic guide to get you started in researching the federal government resources both online and in the library.

1. FSU Libraries Catalog

  • In the Format drop down menu, select “Govt Publication” and search for the publication using the publication title.

 

 

Example search for keyword "Agricultural Statistics" limited by Format: "Govt Publication"

2. Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (CGP)

https://catalog.gpo.gov

 

  • In the CGP, go to advanced search, change the search field to “SuDoc class number” and put in the SuDoc for the publication you are looking for.

3. Google

https://www.google.com/

  • After typing in the keyword for the publication you are looking for, include site:*.gov at the end to search in the sites that end with .gov.
