A guide to research resources for HUM2235: Humanities from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment..

Finding Articles

The three databases below will help you find articles about literature, art and a wide variety of other topics.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar is limited to scholarly resources.  Accessing Google Scholar through the library website allows you to directly connect to FSU Libraries resources.

Welcome HUM2235 Students!

Finding Books

Search for books using the FSU Libraries Catalog. Books are excellent resources to start researching broad topics.

To get to the catalog from the FSU Libraries homepage you can click on I Need To... > Find Books, Journals, and More.

Tip #1: Start your search for books with the broadest terms for the subject you're interested in.  Books tend to cover larger topics than articles, but remember that each chapter within a book will be devoted to a smaller topic.

Tip #2: Once you find one book of interest, look in the catalog record for additional search terms to try.  Try clicking on the subject headings toward the bottom of the record.

Oxford Bibliographies Online (OBO) offers bibliographies of suggested resources by leading experts in the field.  Use the search box on the OBO website or browse by subject.
