If you are new to the FSU Community, we welcome you on behalf of FSU Libraries.

This guide will assist you in locating resources within the library, including books, journals, electronic resources as well as information concerning library services and events. Check the gude for updated information.

    Off-Campus Login

    Almost all of the library's online resources (articles, databases, e-journals, and e-books) are available from off-campus with an active FSU ID and password (what is this?). This is the same ID and password you use to login to Blackboard.

    To access the Libraries' resources from a distance, start at the Libraries' homepage . Look to the left of the page.  Find in the"I need to " list and click on  "Connect from Off Campus." Enter your user name and password when prompted. 

    And that's it! You will now be able to access the Libraries' online resources.

      Key Resources - Article Databases

      These are the most used resources for Nutrition, Food, & Exercise Sciences.  To find the full text of the article, click on a link to the full text or the   button in the database.  Many journals are available online, but some are in the Libraries' print collection.   Articles from journals not available at FSU may be requested through Interlibrary Loan.

      • ISI Web of Knowledge
        Includes Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index. Links to some full text. Formerly called Web of Science.
      • ERIC (CSA)
        Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education to provide extensive access to educational-related literature. The ERIC database corresponds to two printed journals: Resources in Education (RIE) and Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE). Coverage from 1966 -
      • Physical Education Index
        Subject index to domestic and foreign periodicals that are published in English. Coverage includes dance, health, physical education, physical therapy, recreation, sports, sports medicine, physical fitness, rehabilitation, and sport psychology. Coverage is from 1970 to the present.
      • MEDLINE (CSA)
        Covers all areas of medicine, including clinical medicine, experimental medicine, dentistry, nursing, health services administration, nutrition, and much more from 1989-
      • Encyclopedia of Food and Culture

        Presents 600 articles on food and its place in human culture and society, covering everything from agronomy to zucchini. Students, academics, and general researchers will find entries on everything from food preparation, distribution and storage to holidays and festivals, nutrition and health, and cultures and cuisines.
      • Health and Wellness Resource Center
        Use this database to find magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on: Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, Prescription Drugs, Herbal remedies, and alternative or complementary treatments, etc. Included are links to diet, cancer, and health assessment sites as well as government databases.
