The Government Information Unit will make an effort to collect and share information about commemorative month celebrations recognized by Congressional Legislation and Presidential Proclamation to celebrate diversity and meet the information needs of all communities. The purpose of FSU’s outreach about commemorative heritage celebration is to ensure that all heritages that are commemorated by the United States government are also recognized by Florida State in our capacity as a Federal Depository Library.
Additionally, Government Information Displays and Outreach align with Florida State University Libraries’ values to actively promote diversity and inclusion in our collection by acknowledging diverse heritages and communities. These displays promote equitable access to information and critical thinking by providing informative government documents on diverse cultures and backgrounds.
