In the month of February, FSU Libraries celebrated National Black History Month. This yearly commemoration recognizes generations of African American leaders that have contributed countless advancements to our society as we know it. The theme for this year's display is “African American Innovation and Invention.” The products of African American innovation can be seen in every aspect of life. We have highlighted several African Americans that have acted as pioneers in the fields of science, sport, education, and civil rights. The lives and stories of Jesse Owens, Langston Hughes, Harriet Tubman, and Michelle Obama are displayed in our collection to share their message of fearless ambition and unfaltering advancement.
