Data Visualization

A guide to help you create effective visualizations

Data Types

The basic data types:

Numeric (double, integer, float)

An object that includes only numbers or decimals.

String

An object that includes at least one character.

Variables

Types of variables:

What types of variables do you have in your data? This will help you choose a visualization for your analysis.

Categorical

A variable that is categorical has values that can be represented as a specific number of bins. As known as qualitative or discrete. A categorical variable can be nominal (no order to categories) or ordinal (has a correct order to the categories).

Quantitative

A variable measured by the quantity of something known as continuous. This type of variable can be a scale or ratio.
