The Florida Borrowers Program grants limited borrowing privileges to the general collections at FSU Libraries to all Florida residents at no cost.
More information can be found at the program webpage, HERE.
Borrowers can apply to join the program both online or in person. If they inquire in person, hand them the Florida Borrowers Form that is printed and kept in the drawer with the printer key (Strozier) and get a supervisor. A supervisor will be able to create their account and then they can check out materials.
Once this process is completed, checking out materials to Florida Borrowers will happen through Alma as though they were any other scholar. However, the program is limited to books.
To check out materials to Florida Borrowers:
Alums, community members, and non-FSU affiliates who are looking to do research by accessing our databases and catalog or using the microfilm machines may do so through the Visiting Researcher station in Strozier. This station is not intended for general public internet access. The only way for a visitor to access our databases is to come into the building physically (Strozier only) and use this station. This station is on the first floor across from the Tech Desk and requires a login. There is now an OpenAthens login as well that allows Visiting Researchers to access and use OneSearch to research with ease. When someone comes in asking for this access, refer them to the Tech Desk staff who will assist in logging in and using the computer. If there are no Tech Desk staff available, get a supervisor to assist with access.
