ORCID

This guide provides information about how to create and use your ORCID ID at FSU.

Registration & Account Creation

You can register for your ORCID ID on ORCID's website. Already have an account? Connecting it with FSU begins here.

After inputting your name and password and registering, you will receive an email with a verification link. If you are new to ORCID, your next step will be to populate your account with your scholarly works as well as information about your education and employment history. See the Building Your Account section of this guide for more information.

Similarly, do not forget to personalize your account's visibility settings. You can learn more about visibility settings here.

ORCID iD visibility settings

ORCID recommends adding more than one email address to your account in order to ensure that you do not lose access to your account. Personal and FSU emails are viable for this.

A last facet to establish is Trusted Organizations & Individuals. Please read more about it here. Please note that only people with ORCIDs can be considered to become trusted individuals.

For further detailed information on how to accomplish establishing your account, please consider the page titled: "Building Your Account," or the below video for exact instructions.
