MAR 5726: Supply Chain and Marketing in the Digital Age

Supplier Research

Begin supplier research with a review of the company's 10K for any mention of key suppliers, partners, partnerships, or partnership initiatives.

  • EDGAR (SEC) Database
    • search by company name. Select your company and find its 10-K (annual report)  Use your browser's "find" command to search for the terms supplier*, partner* , or joint venture within the text.
  • Press Releases
    • Search with a company's name, supplier's name or a competitor's name. 
    • Look for articles mentioning supplier awards or target company's supply chain development or diversity.

You can search for a company's suppliers in newspapers and trade journals (See NEWS tab). Search the keywords "suppliers" or "supply chain." Also go beyond these keywords and search for new contracts, joint ventures, partnerships, or distributors. Other keywords that may be helpful are procurement, purchasing, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and outsourcing.
