What is Uniformology?

Uniformology is the study of military uniforms across historical periods. Due to the centrality of war to the Napoleonic Period, Uniformology is a well-documented and integral part of studying the history of Napoleon. 

Uniformology in Special Collections & Archives

The Proctor Jones materials include a number of artistic posters, prints, and plates that depict military uniforms across the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Period into the Second French Empire. Of note are multiple illustrations of battlefields, portraits of Napoleon Bonaparte and officers, and foreign mercenary divisions such as Hussars and Swiss-Grenadiers.
