Dissertation & Thesis Retreat: Boot Camp and Writing Sessions

About Dissertation & Thesis Retreat

Join FSU Libraries for the Virtual Fall Dissertation & Thesis Retreat! Each semester FSU Libraries hosts a Dissertation Boot Camp to support Dissertation and Thesis scholars as they finish their degree requirements. The Boot Camp is a series of workshops featuring speakers from FSU Libraries and the FSU Campus partners. The Boot Camp is followed by Writing Sessions that feature Zoom-moderated blocks of time to get your writing projects completed.  Private research consultation with a host librarian is available during the writing session.  The D&T Retreat provides dissertation and thesis writers with the tools and strategies they need to complete their manuscripts while also building a community for everyone to reach their goals.  Frequent campus partners for this event include The Graduate School, The Reading-Writing Center, and the Counseling & Psychological Services. You can sign up for 1, 2, 3, or all sessions.  The choice is yours!  Registration information is available on the Program page.

Organizer: Doctoral Support Special Interest Group at the FSU Libraries

What our past attendees say about the Retreat!

"It helped me feel seen and not alone during this incredibly lonely time that has only been amplified by the pandemic. The ability to connect while also learning about new and useful tools was tremendously helpful."

"The fact that it was virtual, which made it possible for me to attend. Also, the camaraderie and advice shared."

"It set things in perspective. I’m not the only one wondering if I have bitten off more than I can chew."
