Creating a LibGuide in LibGuides 2.0

Basic How-to for creating an effective LibGuide

Creating/editing a new guide

We will be creating template guides for each subject, so you should be able to start by editing the existing guides. But if you need to start one from scratch follow these steps:

1.Go to LibGuides: https://fsu.libapps.com/libapps/ and Sign in

2.Select LibGuides

3.Select Create Guide

4.Assign your guide to the “Do not assign to as group”

5.Name your guide simply as the subject name (use sentence case)

Example:

Geography

Anthropology & Archaeology

6.Use the Description field to communicate the purpose of the guide in no more than two sentences and explain the organizational structure.

Example:
We designed this research guide to introduce you to the field of geography. You'll find the materials, search tools, and other resources you need to start your research.

7.Choose Subject Guide as the guide type

About our template

Across our guides, we want to present consistent information and styling. We also want to make guides easy to skim. To help with these aims, we’ve created a template for use with all subject guides. Our template includes a profile box and a link for users to get help as part of the global navigation, it will also include social links in the footer. You don't need to worry about including any of these elements within the guide content.
