Creating a LibGuide in LibGuides 2.0

Basic How-to for creating an effective LibGuide

Add a table

Tables are added to through the WYSIWYG aka "Add Rich Text/HTML".

Click on the Add Rich text, then the table icon.

Once your table is built then we can alter the color of the cells, control the width of the table and the columns, edit your text, etc.

To do most of this you will need to change the cells one at a time. Right click in a cell then choose properties

"Cell Properties" within Cell menu

Under Cell Properties you can:

  • Change the color of the cell (use Hex colors preceded by a "#"). The LibGuide system prefers RGB colors and will change them automatically. I just find it easier to work in hex colors. An rgb color is written as rgb(205, 192, 146)
  • Set the width of the table 100% or 500 pixels are examples
  • Leave height blank unless you really have a hankering to change it

"pixels" and "percent" options in "Cell Properties"
