This guide can be used to find more information about the 3D printers on and off FSU campus.

The Facility for Arts Research (FAR), created by the College of Fines Arts, aims to support rigorous investigation and inquiry across artistic media and disciplines with a focus on technological innovation. Usage is limited to research for faculty or students with research projects which have been backed by a faculty member. Check out their website for more information.

3D Equipment: 

  • 3D equipment 
    • Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printers
    • Powder printer
      • Capable of printing complex models without need of supports
      • Printouts extremely fragile
    • Print frame with attachable CnC router
      • For very large prints
      Materials: PLA, powder, ceramic

Other Equipment:

  • Laser cutter
  • Large carver to work with woods and metals

Additional Details:

  • Only for research for faculty or backed by faulty
    • Should be related to arts
  • Fees for labor and materials determined by material and usage
  • Certified Rhino teaching facility
    • Provide classes as enough interest comes in
