All the books in the Pop Lit collection at Strozier Library are organized by Fiction, Nonfiction, and Graphic Novels. Call numbers are a set of numbers and/or letters that help you locate Pop Lit books based on their genre.
Fiction and nonfiction call numbers in Pop Lit are made of the genre (F or NF) plus the first three letters of an author’s last name.
Graphic novels, on the other hand, use the Library of Congress classification system. That just means they’re organized by subject like the general collections at FSU Libraries.
Here are some examples of call numbers:
To find a specific book, type the title into the search bar on lib.fsu.edu. Be sure to note its call number and make sure it’s available in the Pop Lit section, like in the example below.
Once you’ve confirmed the book is available and you have the call number, use that information to guide your searching. For instance, if the call number starts with F, head to the Fiction shelves! Feel free to ask a staff member at the Scholar Support Desk desk if you need help (we’re nice, promise).
