Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement on April 22, 1970. It is a day for education and recognition about environmental issues. FSU libraries celebrate Earth Day with a government information display exploring National Parks across the nation. President Woodrow Wilson established the National Park Service in 1916 to manage and support our diverse and flourishing environment in a time of expanding technological advancement. We have included a variety of government publications from organizations such as the National Park Service and the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service. Writings of environmental activists such as John Muir and Rachel Carson are included to encourage the idea that environmental change is possible with collaboration, research, and kindness.
