Finding Journal Articles

Oxford Music Online
While Oxford Music Online primarily contains encyclopedia type articles, be sure to use the BIBLIOGRAPHIES from these articles to find the most important journal literature on that topic.

Also, be sure to look at the works lists for composers. Wonder if a particular song is part of a song cycle? These works lists can help!

How can you find more journal articles on your topic than what is listed in the Grove bibliographies? Search these resources for citations, and click on the "Find it @FSU" icon or text to see if an electronic copy is available.

While this resource does not have abstracts, it does index many familiar English language periodicals.
RILM Abstracts of Music Literature
A great first stop for articles on classical music topics. Be sure to use the subject/thesaurus terms to refine your search strategy. Be particularly careful with the spellings of Russian and East European names!
