Covidence

This guide will help you set up an account in Covidence and provide basic instructions for how to screen studies for a review.

What is Covidence

Covidence is a web-based software platform that streamlines the production of  systematic reviews. It does this by processes for importing search results, title/abstract screening, full-text screening, data abstraction, and quality assessment.

Access to this software is provided by the Florida State University Maguire Medical Library and is available to all researchers affiliated with Florida State University.

How to register for an account:

Covidence requires that users register an account to use its platform. Free Covidence accounts allow up to one review project with limited features. For access to unlimited review projects, invitations to reviewer collaborators, and number of records to screen/review, FSU scholars can register a Covidence account through our institutional license by following the steps below.

  1. Go to https://app.covidence.org/signups/new
  2. Please fill out the form with your details; make sure to:
    1. Use your @fsu.edu email
    2. Enter Florida State University as the organization
    3. Enter your department
    4. Change the city to Tallahassee, FL
  3. Request an invitation to join FSU's institutional subscription to Covidence.
  4. Once you have submitted your registration and requested an invitation, you will receive an email to verify your account.
    • If you do not receive the verification email, please check your spam folder or email medlibrary@med.fsu.edu to request another invitation.
