Contains "The life of the Honourable Robert Boyle" and a table of contents of the five volumes. Copy one of the book is bound in full leather, and stamped in gold with leather labels on spines also stamped in gold; all edges stained red. Copy two has been rebound (20th century), with edges stained red.
On the safety lamp for coal miners; with some researches on flame. by Humphry Davy

Sir Humphry Davy was a British chemist and inventor who applied his knowledge of chemistry to invent a safety lamp for miners. As mines were dark enough to require a light, but too dangerous for open flames, a "safety light" was required so that miners could see while not starting fires in the mines.
