If you are not automatically directed to the login page, try the following steps:

  • Ask scholar if they are using a VPN. 
    • Virtual Private Networks do not work on FSUGuest WiFi and having one active means that the login page won't automatically redirect AND the internet won't work
    • If they are comfortable doing so, ask the scholar to disable their VPN
  • Check or ask the scholar if they have a Firewall or security that might be blocking the connection
    • Disable it temporarily
  • If the Wi-Fi login page still doesn't automatically get loaded, one of these options "should" load the wireless registration page:
  • If all of the above fails, try to connect their computer to a mifi hotspot. Leave the mifi on top of the laptop cabinet and tell the guest to have a seat near the desk so that they stay in range of the hotspot. Please leave a note on the mifi saying it is being used by a guest so that no one removes it until the guest is done
    • If the mifi does not work either, then the issue is with the computer, not with the wifi network

Wifi Drivers

If the scholar's computer won't connect to any networks, or if network options are not available, the issue is probably with the wifi adapter drivers

  • Try to disable and re-enable the drivers by going to Device Manager
  • Scroll down to "Network Adapters" and expand the dropdown menu
  • Right-click on the wifi driver and choose "Disable device"
  • Right-click again and choose "Enable device"

If this does not work, you can try reinstalling the drivers from the manufacturer's website
